Paper cutting is a traditional folk art form in my country, used for decorative patterns. It originated in the Han Dynasty. During the Han and Tang Dynasties, it was fashionable for women to cut flowers and birds from gold and silver foil and colored silk and paste them on their temples as decorations. Later, paper cutting became widely used during festivals such as the Spring Festival. People cut colorful paper into various flowers, plants, animals, or figures and stories, and pasted them in their homes as decorations. Those pasted on windows were called "window flowers," those pasted on doors were called "door signs," and those used for celebrations were called "auspicious flowers."
